Casting Crowns was presented with a Gold Record (500,000 copies sold) at last evening's Big Ticket Event sponsored by Provident Distribution. Steven Curtis Chapman, co-executive producer of the Beach Street Records debut, helped present the plaques.

Third Day hosted the event at The Fox Theater that included music from Caedmon's Call's upcoming debut, Bebo Norman (Essential), FFH (Essential) and new group Better Days Ahead (Creative Trust Workshop). Warren Barfield (Creative Trust) debuted a version of Keith Green's classic "Oh Lord, You're Beautiful," which will be on the upcoming four-volume CD collection The Top 100 Songs in Christian Music (CCM Magazine/Provident).

New artist Day of Fire (Essential), which includes frontman Joshua Brown, formerly of secular group Full Devil Jacket, gave his testimony and sang "Cornerstone" off of the band's upcoming album. The crowd that included a mix of retailers and Atlanta locals gave the group a standing ovation.

Provident also announced it is doing a DVD and live CD version of Third Day's current release, Wire, entitled Live Wire, and Michael W. Smith is releasing a new studio pop release Oct. 26 called Healing Rain.
