Registrations are still being taken for the fourth annual Gathering of Church Bookstores to be held in Houston, next week, which has already drawn bookings by bookstore representatives from 29 states and two Canadian provinces. Exhibition floor space at the three-day event at Lakewood Church is sold out with 67 vendors taking part in the March 26-28 program that combines teaching, business and inspiration. Nearly 50 authors and artists will be featured in an evening autograph party/reception as part of the event. Church bookstores represented at the event will have the opportunity to receive cash bonuses from $50 to $100 for exhibit floor appointments and orders, with two also receiving a $250 award each at the event. Lakewood church pastor and author Joel Osteen is to meet with Gathering attendees, while former boxing champion George Foreman will be another of the special guests. The event will also see the announcements of this year's awards for large, mid-size and small bookstore, supplier and sales rep of the year. “This year's program promises to be even better than ever,” said Dave Condiff, associate publisher of The Church Bookstore magazine, which organizes the event. "We're excited about the mix of practical help, personal fellowship and professional development that is going to be available." Registration details for the Gathering of Church Bookstores are available at www.thechurchbookstore.com. The Church Bookstore is a supplement of Christian Retailing magazine.
