Christian Retailing

readers are being warned that a rogue subscription agent is soliciting renewals and new orders to the magazine without the approval of publisher Strang Communications.

Pretending to represent Christian Retailing, the agent has been mailing unauthorized notices and requesting payment as well as calling subscribers.

"Our legitimate notices have our logo prominently printed on the form," said Strang's Circulation Director Carmen Lugo. "Retailers may receive a free subscription by filling out a qualifying form, therefore no invoice will be sent to them. Suppliers do pay for their subscription and we ask that their check is made payable to Christian Retailing and mailed to our processing center in Palm Coast, Fla."

Lugo encouraged subscribers to provide Strang with a copy of the unauthorized notice in order to identify the agent. "One of the difficulties with rogue agents is tracking them down," she said. "We don't know how they are obtaining our information. We are carefully screening list orders as well as monitoring customer complaints."

For more information, contact Strang's in-house customer service line at 800-749-6500 ext. 2410.
