General market books giant Barnes & Noble will share some of its selling secrets with CBA market publishers at the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA) spring session Successful Channel Management in Tucson, Ariz., April 30-May 4.

ECPA President Mark Kuyper said that leaders from Borders, Amazon and Google were also expected to be among the presenters at the event-closed to non-members to protect proprietary information-which will look at how to sell more Christian books through the general market.

He emphasized that the focus of the program did not mean that ECPA or Christian publishers were turning away from Christian stores, pointing to the association's ongoing involvement in discussions on supply-chain initiatives aiming to reduce costs in CBA circles as one example of a continuing commitment to Christian retailers.

"We certainly would not abandon the Christian retail channel," he said. "We will continue to be involved in things that help grow and support the Christian retail channel. We just simply need to also look at other channels ands help them focus their unique areas of strength as it relocates to Christian products because as Christian publishers we are mandated to make the message of Christ known."
