Thursday's women's luncheon at the Colorado Convention Center saw 172 registrants, as participants enjoyed an inspirational variety of dramatic readings of Scripture, song and testimony from four of the more than 30 women who contributed their talents to Nelson Bibles' The Word Becomes Flesh Audio New Testament. Donna VanLiere, best-selling author of The Christmas Hope (Integrity), told of God's sovereign plan in her life to adopt two Chinese daughters after losing a child and undergoing fertility treatment. "Adoption has been our greatest joy, although it started out as our greatest pain," she said. Natalie Grant sang "Held" from her CD Awaken (Curb), and told the audience about overcoming an eating disorder and shared her concern about the scourge of human trafficking around the world. Emceed by Laurie Whaley Roe, vice president of the NCV translation for Thomas Nelson, the event featured Thomas Nelson author Angela Thomas and evangelist and Gospo Centric recording artist Dorinda Clark-Cole who also offered their many talents.
