After being away from the Christian products industry for 13 years, an artist and her husband have returned with new lines of greeting cards, and framed and unframed prints.
Artist Debbie Bell Jarratt and her husband, Thomas, of Durham, N.C., launched Seeds Evangelical Greeting Cards, a religious all-occasion greeting card business, in 1986. Beginning in 1997, the company suffered financial setbacks as Jarratt’s health declined to the point she had to endure loss of sight in one eye and multiple joint replacements. But in 2000, the Jarratts were able to revive their company and launched new categories, including a line of figurines.
At CBA’s summer convention for the first time since 1985, the Jarratts announced a new line of framed and unframed prints to release this month. All of God’s Grace Be to This Place, Believe, Jesus Is the Heart of Christmas and Jesus Gave Me a New Heart can be festive for Christmas or any time of year.
Some 74 new designs are available in unframed watercolor paper prints in various sizes and retail prices from $15 to $40, and small-, medium- and large-framed art pieces from $67-$192. The company also introduced a 32-design everyday card line under the "Seeds Evangelical Greeting Cards" line. Each card is fully illustrated, inside and out, in full color, and retails for $2.95.
Jarratt’s portfolio includes work for Hallmark Cards, The Franklin Mint, Enesco and Thomas Nelson, among others.
