B&H Publishing Group has announced the hiring of Michelle Prater Burke as the new acquisitions and development editor for B&H Kids. This is a new position as the children’s line continues to expand after the successful launches of Audrey Bunny by Angie Smith and The Big Picture Interactive Storybook Bible. Burke is excited about the opportunities for this new position. “B&H Kids has a focused vision for creating children's products that are both engaging and enriching, and I'm honored to be a part of the team as it continues to grow and to promote its mission,” she said. Publisher Dan Lynch is thankful to have Burke on the team. “B&H Kids has seen significant growth over the past two years, and we had been looking for the right person to join our team,” he said. “Michelle has a solid track record in children’s publishing and is respected by peers and authors. I’m excited to have her working with us as we reach more kids with the gospel message.” For the last several years, Burke has been an editor at HarperCollins Christian Publishing, where she worked with the Thomas Nelson Gift Books team and the Tommy Nelson children’s imprint. She had the privilege of developing products with established authors such as Max Lucado, Sheila Walsh and Colleen Coble. Prior to working at HarperCollins, Burke was an editor at Gospel Advocate Publishing and at Ideals Publications, a Guideposts company, where she spent five years as editor of Ideals magazine. She has also written her own children's books and developed a line of books for Highlights magazine. |
