JesseWisnewskiB&H Publishing Group is adding to the company’s leadership in the trade book area with the hire of Jesse Wisnewski, former content manager of Resurgence in Seattle.

Wisnewski brings 10 years of experience in ministry and marketing to the B&H team. For the past two years, he has risen in leadership to oversee the content strategy and assist with the marketing for the Resurgence, part of Mars Hill Church. Resurgence produces and markets dozens of books as well as regional and national conferences. Part of his position was to assist with the development of marketing campaigns by identifying content marketing strategies for Resurgence Books.

Amanda Sloan, senior vice president of marketing is thankful he has joined her team.

“B&H continues to grow in the trade division and having a marketing leader like Jesse at the helm will help us continue growing and reaching people with the message of Christ,” Sloan said. “Jesse’s experience in the church and his ability to interact with the church will help guide our marketing to better reach Christian readers.”

At B&H, Wisnewski will oversee the marketing for strategic authors and their books from B&H, including Matt Chandler, Thom Rainer, Beth Moore, Priscilla Shirer and Angie Smith. He will lead a team of marketers to develop campaigns to reach readers as well as maximize B&H content and how it can be best discovered in the market. Wisnewski will begin his new position July 1.

“Every word really does matter,” Wisnewski said, referring to the B&H mission statement. “God chose to use words to let us know who He is and how we are to live for His glory and enjoy Him forever. B&H’s commitment to publishing content that is not only faithful to God and His Word, but also aims to connect people with Jesus Christ is what attracted me to the company to become a part of their team.”

Wisnewski has a Masters of Arts in Christian Thought from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary and an undergraduate degree in marketing from Marshall University in West Virginia, his home state. He has written a book, American Crossroads (2011), and blogs on content marketing and theology at thejessew.com. He is also on Twitter at @thejessew.
