Barbour Publishing recently announced the July promotions of numerous employees on its editorial, production and marketing teams. Annie Tipton has been promoted to senior acquisitions editor. In her new role, Tipton is focusing solely on acquisitions, as she will be responsible for product development in fiction and nonfiction. She also will manage Barbour’s acquisitions team—including Rebecca Germany, senior fiction editor; Brigitta Nortker, who has been promoted to nonfiction acquisitions editor; and an additional, soon-to-be-hired nonfiction acquisitions editor. Amy Oakley has been promoted to the newly created position of editorial coordinator. Her primary responsibilities will include day-to-day management of the editorial assistants, the editorial schedule and project workflow. Anthony Barkett has been promoted to the position of production manager where he’ll be overseeing workflow scheduling through the typesetting department, management of the typesetting staff and the coordination of day-to-day production communication with printers. During his six years with the company, Barkett has been instrumental in the success of Barbour’s warehouse operations. In the marketing department, Elizabeth Shrider took on the new role of marketing manager/social media specialist. In addition to her duties as marketing manager, she will be in charge of developing and executing Barbour’s corporate social-media strategy. |
