TheKingStevenJames-webSteven James, Tosca Lee and other authors received nods in The Christian Manifesto’s 2013 Lime Awards. For the first time, the Lime Awards also included nonfiction titles. The awards are broken into 11 fiction and six nonfiction categories, and winning books are nominated and chosen by reviewers at The Christian Manifesto.

James won the Crime & Legal Fiction category for the second year running with the most recent book in his “The Bowers Files” series, The King (Signet Select), beating No. 1 New York Times best-selling author Michael Connelly’s The Gods of Guilt (Little, Brown) and A Matter of Trust by Lis Wiehl with April Henry (Thomas Nelson).

Author and former CBA board President Jim Reimann dies Print Email

JimReimann-webChristian retailer and best-selling author and editor Jim Reimann died Dec. 18 following a recent diagnosis of Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease, a neurological condition. He was 63.

Reimann founded and owned The Christian Armory in Atlanta, named by CBA the 1988-1989 Store of the Year, and was chairman of the CBA board for two years. He was also COO of Family Christian Stores and facilitated the six-year expansion from 148 to 362 stores in 39 states.

StowTown Records launches Christian retail-friendly campaign for new album Print Email

DougAndersonDrive-webStowTown Records is encouraging customers to patronize their local Christian retailer in a new campaign for Doug Anderson’s newest release, Drive (Provident Distribution). As an expression of appreciation to their retail partners, neither StowTown Records nor Doug Anderson Music will have this project available direct from their online stores for the first two weeks of the release. Instead, they will be encouraging fans to visit their local Christian store to purchase the album.

Fans also will be able to reserve their copy beginning Dec. 30, through the Munce store-finder, which will be available on both the label’s website and Anderson’s website. Customers who order in advance and pick up at their local Munce-affiliated Christian retailer will receive an autographed copy of the CD.
