Carey Casey, CEO of the National Center for Fathering (NCF) and author of Championship Fathering: How to Win at Being a Dad (Focus on the Family/Tyndale House Publishers), was recently appointed to the newly created White House National Task Force on Fatherhood and Strong Families.
"I'm honored to serve as a member alongside Joe Jones and Roland Warren, two colleagues who are also my teammates on the National Fatherhood Leaders Group," Casey, who was chosen to serve on the Task Force last month, said on the NCF Web site. "The task force will position responsible fatherhood as common ground among people who are interested in providing a better future for America's children."
Casey added that he hoped the task force will carry the discussion about fathering beyond Washington, D.C., and Father's Day. "More forums around the country will provide opportunities for leaders to strategize about how to address some of the disturbing trends in fatherhood-nationally as well as regionally," he said.
