NavPress, the publishing arm of the U.S.-based The Navigators, had said that it prematurely announced that Thomas Nelson will sell "The Navigator Reference Library" on its behalf. Although the companies have been in talks for several months about the project, the agreement has not been finalized.

Religious books saw a decrease of more than 12% for May, with sales totaling $38.3 million. Sales were also down by 9.7 % for the year, according to figures released by the Association of American Publishers (AAP). Overall book sales tracked by the group decreased by 3.2% at $637.9 million and were down nearly 4% for the year.

Attendance down but retailers, suppliers mostly upbeat Print Email

CBA's 60th summer convention closed with attendance down significantly on 2008, but with mostly positive verdicts from suppliers and retailers alike.

Total professional attendance at the International Christian Retail Show (ICRS) in Denver this week was 1,903. The 534 international attendees-from 56 countries-represented a 28% drop on the number for last year.

Positive sales reports and an upbeat mood were the common mantra of suppliers, distributors, publishers and retailers during the International Christian Retail Show (ICRS), which wrapped up yesterday at Denver's Colorado Convention Center.

Mardel Christian & Education President Jason Green, a CBA board member, said, "It was a great show for us" and that it "exceeded expectations."
