Classy Christian makes subtle statement of faith Classy Christian Clothing & Apparel is a name that suits well the Wood-ridge, N.J.-based family business run by owner Joseph Blythe and business partner Eric Chiffriller. The company was founded in 2007 out of a desire to produce clothing with an outward sign of the wearer's Christian faith, "not in an over-the-top, in-your-face way, but a subtle, clean, classy way." "Several companies currently sell religious based apparel, but none of them did it in a simple, clear way," Blythe said. "So, a year ago, we began to seek out designs and symbols that simply state, ‘I am a follower of Christ, a Christian.' " The company also uses a modified fish logo to build awareness of autism. The "Pray for a cure to autism" logo was added because "both my partner, Eric, and I have autism in our families," Blythe said. "He has two nephews and I have three relatives with various forms of autism. Adding a symbol that can both represent Christianity and autism was an easy addition to our line of faith-based clothing." The company's designs are embroidered on high-quality, durable T-shirts, polos, sweaters, fleeces and jackets for men and women. The company plans on adding full-zip and pull-over sweatshirts, jackets and hats in the near future. For every order placed, Classy Christian is offering a free giveaway Classy Christian shirt. Ten percent of gross sales from the autism awareness shirts goes to autism charities, and 10% of other gross sales is donated to a variety of Christian charities.
