Conservation group honors Harvest House artist Wildlife enthusiast and Harvest House artist James Hautman has been named Ducks Unlimited 2011 Artist of the Year, MHS Licensing has announced. Next month he will be honored for his painting titled First Light-Canvasbacks in Dallas at the national convention of Ducks Unlimited, a nonprofit conservation organization. "It is a great honor to be named Ducks Unlimited artist of the year," Jim Hautman said. "It is particularly satisfying to have my artwork chosen by people who are passionate about wildlife and conservation. I grew up loving the outdoors, and I feel lucky to be able to do what I do." This was the second time Hautman won the award; the first was in 1991. The public voted online for the winner, and more than 20,000 votes were tallied. The Hautman Brothers artwork can be found on products from home textiles and giftware to stationery and collectibles. The most recent Harvest House gift book from the brothers-James, Robert and Joe-is With Wings Like Eagles, released in January. |
