Band Angels maker comforts with new nightlight The Nashville couple whose concern about boo-boos led to an unexpected success is planning to add to the accidental line. Tim and Tami West were previewing their new Band Angel nightlight at AmericasMart last month. Referencing Ps. 27:1 and featuring the same cartoon characters who grace their Band Angel bandages, the comfort lights are due in stores later this year. “We wanted to expand the line,” said Tim West, who also runs a CD-manufacturing company. “When a small child is going to bed at night, they can be afraid. We wanted to provide applicable scripture to products for them. … We are not just trying to throw Bibles verses on everything,” he said. The Wests came up with their Band Angels, which feature Bible references about God's care and healing, after their granddaughter was diagnosed with diabetes and needed daily insulin shots. “Our goal was to put scripture in front of her so that her parents could read it to her,” he said. Since launching the bandages in 2009, the pair has sold more than 100,000 of the $3 boxes—2 million bandages. |
