In response to the popularity of the surprise hit Fireproof (Provident-Integrity Distribution), Fireproof Original Motion Picture Soundtrack will be released July 14. Featuring songs from Third Day, Casting Crowns, 2, Leeland, Grey Holiday and Warren Barfield, the soundtrack will also include 10 songs from the score by Mark Willard as well as a bonus track of Waller's "While I'm Waiting/Fireproof Remix." Boosted by grass-roots support and bulk ticket purchases from churchgoers as well as some Christian retailers, Fireproof made $33.3 million at the box office, despite a modest $500,000 budget. The movie, which stars Kirk Cameron as a firefighter who turns to God to save his marriage, has been a top-selling DVD at Christian retail since it was released on video Jan. 27. When Fireproof was released last fall, there were no plans for a soundtrack because of the complications of licenses, Provident-Integrity officials said. Family Christian Stores offered an exclusive Fireproof soundtrack in December along with pre-orders for the DVD release of the pro-marriage movie. The CD included three songs featured in the film and portions of the original score, running for about 30 minutes. |
