- Colorado-based NavPress has announced a restructuring of its operations, which includes dropping the print versions of its Discipleship Journal and Pray! magazines and the elimination of nine positions.
- “It is no secret that we are all in the midst of some very challenging times in our economy and the publishing industry,” said Michael D. Miller, president of NavPress. “Magazine publishing has been hit hard. The Internet has been dealing a blow to print media for years. Then the economic downturn—it was like a one-two punch.”

- Discipleship Journal and Pray! will continue to have a Web presence, using content from their archives.
- NavPress is also streamlining its book divisions, including trade publishing and direct publishing. Sue Kline, editorial director, will lead the trade group while Mike Linder will lead the direct team.
- “This new structure positions us for a long and fruitful ministry through publishing,” Miller said. “But it means saying goodbye to some outstanding people. That's always the hardest part.”
- NavPress, a division of The Navigators, an interdenominational nonprofit organization, is based in Colorado Springs, Colo.
