Digital editions of Christian Retailing are to offer additional content as part of the magazine's continued expansion beyond the printed page.

From the January 2010 issue, subscribers to the free digital issue available online will find audio and movie extras linked to articles in the edition. The first extras include a recording of Christian Retailing editors commenting on the major industry news and events of 2009, in association with their written review of the year.

In addition, the new digital version includes one-click links to Web sites mentioned in articles and provides the opportunity for interactive adverts and advertisements that can be enhanced with audio and video files.

"It's all part of our efforts to serve retailers and suppliers more effectively and more seamlessly," said Publisher Dave Condiff. "Between the print edition and our online services, we offer the central information point for the Christian products industry."

With regular blog features and the twice-weekly Christian Retailing Update news service--also available by free e-mail subscription--available at the magazine's Web site traffic has doubled in the past year.

The site also features a community forum where retailers, suppliers and others in the industry can discuss issues, offer ideas and share prayer concerns. There are links to the magazine's The Church Bookstore and Inspirational Gift Trends supplements.

One of the latest additions to the site, debuting Jan. 4, 2010, is a continuously updated listing of new book releases. Other site features include a calendar of media appearances and an Industry Radar round-up of other media reports on the Christian products world and its members.
