Revell--a division of Baker Publishing Group--has signed Mary Beth Chapman, wife of award-winning artist Steven Curtis Chapman, to a book deal. Choosing to SEE: A Journey of Struggle and Hope--to be released in September and promoted during the Women of Faith conferences and her husband's fall concert tour--tells the story of Chapman's lifelong struggles with God through bouts with depression and the death of the Chapmans' daughter Maria in an accident in May 2008. "I've told my kids for years that God doesn't make mistakes," she writes. "Would I believe it now, when my whole world as I knew it came to an end?" Chapman will be speaking at 13 Women of Faith conferences this year, as well as on her husband's fall concert tour. Married for 25 years, the Chapmans--who have six children, including Maria--are founders of the orphan ministry Show Hope, which they started in 2001 after they adopted the first of three daughters from China. |
