CBA has sold off its headquarters in Colorado Springs, Colo., though the retailers' association will stay on in the building as a tenant.

Announcing the sale, the organization said that it puts CBA in a stronger position to better serve members "through advocacy, events, competitive business solutions, industry publications and more." The name of the buyer and the purchase price were not disclosed.

CBA put the two-level building it moved into in 2000 on the market for lease or sale last November in the wake of the resignation of longtime President and CEO Bill Anderson. The move also followed downsizing of association staff from around 50 to less than a dozen in the past few years as income from its events dropped.

CBA said that "when weighing options, it became apparent that the sale of the building was a better choice." The lease negotiated with the new owner means that CBA will not need to change address or interrupt operations. The agreement allows CBA to "lease space appropriate to the size of the organization while allowing flexibility for future expansion as well."

When listed by commercial realtor Grubb & Ellis last year, CBA's property was described as featuring almost 42,500 square feet of space, an available warehouse, conference rooms with high-end audio visual capabilities and "excellent views."

CBA's mailing address will remain the same, as will all phone numbers and contact information. Mailing address: P.O. Box 62000, Colorado Springs, CO 80962-2000. Shipping address: 9240 Explorer Drive, Suite 101, Colorado Springs, CO 80920. Phone: 800-252-1950 or 719-265-9895.
