The winners of the Word Guild 2010 Canadian Christian Writing Awards were announced June 16 at a black-tie event at World Vision's headquarters in Mississauga, Ontario. Honoring the work of top Canadian Christian writers, the awards featured 18 book categories. In the Apologetics category, Red Letter Revolution: If We Did Revolution Jesus' Way by Colin McCartney (Castle Quay Books) won, while Jesus, the Final Days by Craig A. Evans and N.T. Wright (Westminster John Knox Press/Augsburg Fortress Canada) was the winner in Biblical Studies. Terrific Tuesday by Wendy Vale (aka van Leeuwen) (Gumboot Books) won the Children category, while Beyond the Clutter: Discovering Personal Authenticity by David Wiens (Word Alive Press) was the winner in the Christian Living category. The contest received a record number of 245 entries from writers in eight Canadian provinces, according to organizers.
