Inspirational gift pioneer Bob Siemon has seen a good response to a new Seasonal Sales Program introduced as his company marks its 40th anniversary.

Around 175 items from Bob Siemon Designs' (BSD) inventory were discounted 60%-97% for the Back to School promotion offered to stores in August. "We got a really good response," Siemon said. "Many retailers have taken advantage of the additional margins this program provides."

A second Christmas discount offer made recently gives minimum savings of 80% on around 150 items, with an Easter, Mother's Day and Father's Day and graduation promotion due in February. Siemon said that the company would offer four sales programs a year.

Among the items available are brooches, pins, pendants, bookmarks, gift bags, crosses, earrings, pens, mugs, greeting cards, bracelets and key rings, including discontinued lines.

"In the current economic climate, we are actively looking to offer creative programs and discounts so that retailers can offer affordable Christian jewelry and gifts to their customers," said Siemon. "You have to find something that you can do to stimulate sales, and so this could be an incredible benefit to stores."

As part of the sales program, BSD has opened a warehouse showroom at its Santa Ana, Calif., headquarters, which marks a Grand Opening this weekend by welcoming members of the public. Christian retailers in the area have been sent a special invitation to the event, with additional discounts available for them.
