Sarah Palin's latest book tour kicks off next week, with a stop at the Mardel Christian & Education location in Tulsa, Okla., on Friday, Nov. 26. HarperCollins will release Palin's America by Heart: Reflections of Family, Faith, and Flag on Tuesday, Nov. 23. Running until Dec. 3, the America by Heart 16-city book tour starts on publication day in Phoenix, with Mardel's Tulsa location at 9725 E. 71st Street as the second stop. Expecting a turnout of 2,000-3,000 book buyers the day after Thanksgiving, the chain will be providing portable toilets during Palin's "first Mardel experience," company officials said. The former vice-presidential candidate and former Alaskan governor's first book, Going Rogue (HarperCollins), sold more than 2.6 million copies in 2009 and topped the New York Times best-sellers list. With a first printing of 1 million copies, America by Heart—an "inspirational follow-up" to Going Rogue—"reflects on the key values, both national and spiritual, that have been such a profound part of Palin's life and continue to inform her vision of America's future," HarperCollins said. Palin will only sign copies of America by Heart purchased at Mardel. Only 500 wristbands will be given out starting at 7 a.m., Nov 26—which will guarantee customers a spot to meet the author and have their books signed, Mardel officials said. |
