Bethany Hamilton, the subject of the inspirational biopic Soul Surfer, will be at the International Christian Retail Show (ICRS)—to be held July 10-13 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. Appearing at the show Wednesday, July 13, Hamilton will be accompanied by her mother—Cheri Hamilton, author of Raising a Soul Surfer, released this month by Regal Books. Heavily promoted to the faith-based community on its theatrical release this spring and seeing a positive response, Soul Surfer tells of Hamilton's remarkable return to surfing after losing an arm in a shark attack. The film will be released on DVD Aug. 2 by Affirm Films/Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and distributed to Christian stores by Provident-Integrity Distribution. Also attending ICRS will be the Duggar family, stars of the hit TLC reality show 19 Kids and Counting. Authors of A Love That Multiplies, released this month by Howard Books, Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar along with their 19 children will perform music at the open-to-the-public Worship Him event Sunday, July 10. The Duggars will also perform and sign autographs in the Town Center on the exhibit floor and at the Spring Arbor/Ingram Content Group booth during the show. Additionally, John Schneider—Bo Duke of The Dukes of Hazzard who also stars in Doonby, the story of a mysterious drifter who comes to a small town and turns it upside down with his revelations—will be at ICRS. Scheduled for release in September, the pro-life film features a cameo by Norma McCorvey, who was Jane Roe in Roe vs. Wade in the landmark 1973 Supreme Court case that legalized abortion. Meanwhile, Committed, the six-man a capella group who won the second season of the hit NBC series The Sing Off, will perform at the Town Center stage. The Alabama-based group members expressed their faith and performed Christian songs on The Sing Off. Click here for more information on ICRS. |
