Religious book sales down slightly for July |

Net sales of religion books in July declined slightly (0.2%) on the same period last year, but year-to-date were up on 2010 by 11.5%, according to the latest figures available from the Association of American Publishers. With 80 publishers reporting, 22 in religion—among them Crossway, David C. Cook, Harvest House, Thomas Nelson and Tyndale House Publishers—religion sales for the month of June were up 18.4%. In other categories, e-books continued strong, up 105.3% for the month and up 152.8% for the year. Audiobooks were down 25.5% for the month and 18.4% for the year. Adult hardcover books saw a nearly 34% increase for the month and a 17.8% drop year-to-date. Adult paperback titles were down for the month just over 29% and for the year 20.5%.
