Thomas Nelson has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Chicago-based audiobook publisher Oasis Audio. Oasis will be the sole distributor of Thomas Nelson’s new titles to stores and libraries in CD and MP3 format. Oasis’ audiobooks will be released simultaneously with the Thomas Nelson print editions and will include retail and library versions. The two publishers will also participate in cooperative marketing efforts. “Like all aspects of publishing today, the audiobook world is in a state of flux,” Thomas Nelson’s Vice President of Design and Multimedia Gabe Wicks said. “Partnering with a strong company like Oasis will ensure our readiness for the changes ahead.” The two publishers recently partnered to distribute the audio version of the New York Times best-seller Heaven is for Real. Recent Thomas Nelson audiobooks available through Oasis Audio include: Nearing Home, a memoir from Billy Graham; Standout by Marcus Buckingham; and a fiction series by GRAMMY Award-winning recording artist Sara Evans. Discovery House Publishers (DHP) has also announced changes in its distribution. Effective Dec. 1, DHP sales will be brought in-house, and its new sales team will work directly with accounts. Distribution—managed previously by Barbour Publishing—will now be through CNI Distribution. A nonprofit organization affiliated with RBC Ministries that produces the Day of Discovery televison program, DHP holds exclusive rights to the works of Oswald Chambers and several compilations of Our Daily Bread. In addition, DHP publishes a full line of other devotional titles, biblical exposition, Christian Living, inspirational books, video and print Bible study curriculum, music, DVDs, stationery, calendars and software products.
