Ryan and Josh Shook's Firsthand: Ditching Secondhand Religion for a Faith of Your Own (WaterBrook Press) has become a national best-seller. Released March 19, the debut book by Ryan, 24, and Josh, 23, the oldest sons of Kerry Shook—pastor of Woodlands Church near Houston—debuted at No. 4 on the April 7 New York Times Hardcover Advice & Miscellaneous best-sellers list and No. 5 on the April 1 Publishers Weekly Hardcover Nonfiction list. It also debuted at No. 8 on the March 29 Wall Street Journal Hardcover Nonfiction list and No. 107 on the March 28 USA Today's Top 150 Best-Selling Books. In the book, the two share their experiences of leaving home and doubting their faith.
