Vision Video is sponsoring Churches Making Movies' (CMM) inaugural Christian Film Festival this fall.

"The film festival represents a great showcase of church-produced films that are consistent with our calling to provide video resources that would allow families and churches to have an historic awareness of how God has worked among his people over the centuries," said Vision Video General Manager Bill Curtis.

To be held Oct. 11-13 primarily at the Holiday Inn in Clark, N.J., the festival will screen five world premieres from the country's best church-produced films, and offer networking and professional development for church-based filmmakers.

"We're excited to have Vision Video on board as one of our official sponsors," said LaVonne McIver James, the festival's director. "It is companies like this that help empower the church-based film movement and make the festival possible."

Vision Video is one of the largest distributors of Christian DVDs, with more than 2,000 titles.

"Churches that make movies are a part of a cultural movement of churches harnessing the power of films to impact culture," CMM officials said. "This culture-impacting movement is fueled by pastors, Christian organizations and media-producing ministries using faithful filmmaking to transform hearts and minds."
