Reigning GMA Dove Awards’ New Artist of the Year for KING & COUNTRY’s Christmas EP, Into The Silent Night - THE EP, reached No. 1 on the iTunes’ Christian & Gospel Albums chart this week. Meanwhile their critically-acclaimed debut album and iTunes’ pick as 2012’s “Breakthrough Christian & Gospel Album”, Crave, maintains a Top 25 chart position nearly two years after its release. This past weekend, the Aussie duo performed seven shows at the 2,800 seat Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, Calif., including one sold-out show. On Dec. 4 they embarked on the 10-city K-LOVE Christmas Tour, including five already sold-out dates, with Big Daddy Weave and Meredith Andrews. The band also performed “Angels We Have Heard on High” live this morning on The 700 Club. Produced by Seth Mosley, Ainslie Grosser and for KING & COUNTRY, Into The Silent Night - THE EP includes the duo’s reimagined versions of Christmas classics “Angels We Have Heard on High” and “Little Drummer Boy” as well as two original songs—“Into The Silent Night” and “Baby Boy” (both in-studio and live). In addition, on Oct. 16 for KING & COUNTRY released a live album and concert film featuring live versions of Crave. for KING & COUNTRY, named New Artist of the Year at the 44th Annual Dove Awards in October and Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the first-ever K-LOVE Fan Awards in June, made their late night debut on Jan. 10 when they performed “The Proof of Your Love” on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.” In 2012, the breakthrough duo was named one of Billboard’s 17 acts to watch and was CCM’s best-selling new artist. |
