Mandisa, Tye Tribbett enjoy multiple GRAMMY nominations |

Mandisa and Tye Tribbett each received three GRAMMY Award nominations Dec. 6. Tasha Cobbs, Natalie Grant and Matt Maher also excelled with a pair of nominations each. Mandisa’s Overcomer release (Sparrow Records/Capitol Christian Distribution) brought her accolades with two nominations for the title track as Best Contemporary Christian Music (CCM) Song and Best Gospel/CCM Performance, and one for the album as Best CCM Album. Tribbett was nominated in the following categories: Best Gospel/CCM Performance and Best Gospel Song for “If He Did It Before … Same God” [Live]; and Best Gospel Album for Greater Than (Motown Gospel/Capitol Christian Distribution). Tasha Cobbs was honored with two nominations for Best Gospel/CCM Performance for “Break Every Chain,” a track from her live album Grace (Motown Gospel/Capitol Christian Distribution), which was nominated for Best Gospel Album. Natalie Grant’s “Hurricane” received two nominations in the Best CCM Song and Best Gospel/CCM Performance categories. The song is the title track from Hurricane (Curb Records/Word Distribution). Matt Maher’s two nominations derived from his worship album All the People Said Amen (Essential Records/Provident Distribution). It received a nod for Best CCM Album and for the song “Lord, I Need You.” Matt Redman, who won six Gospel Music Association Dove Awards this year, was nominated once, in the Best CCM Album category for Your Grace Finds Me (sixstepsrecords/Capitol Christian Distribution). TobyMac, who took home four Dove Awards this year, fared the same as Redman with just one GRAMMY nomination for “Speak Life” as Best CCM Song.
