The Audio Publishers Association (APA) has announced the finalists for its 2014 Audie Awards competition, the only awards program in the United States devoted entirely to honoring spoken word entertainment. Winners will be announced at the May 29 Audies Gala at the New York Academy of Medicine in New York City. “Excitement for the 2014 Audies abounds as we congratulate the many finalists on distinguishing themselves this year,” said Michele Cobb, president of APA. “Our success and growth as an industry continues to give rise to excellence in production and we look forward to celebrating together.” The nominees for Inspirational/Faith-Based Fiction are Ice Cutter’s Daughter, written by Tracie Peterson and narrated by Stina Nielsen (Recorded Books); A Story of God and All of Us, written by Mark Burnett and Roma Downey and narrated by Keith David and the authors (Hachette Audio); Truth-Stained Lies, written by Terri Blackstock and narrated by Gabrielle de Cuir (Zondervan); Unveiled: Tamar, written by Francine Rivers and narrated by Barbara Rosenblat (Recorded Books); and Illuminations, written by Mary Sharratt and narrated by Tavia Gilbert (Tantor Media). The nominees for Inspirational/Faith-Based Nonfiction are Break Out!, written and narrated by Joel Osteen (Hachette Audio); Called to the Fire, written by Cheston M. Bush and narrated by David Cochran Heath (eChristian); Grace Happens Here, written by Max Lucado and narrated by Wayne Shepherd, Kate Rudd and Luke Daniels (Brilliance Audio); Sparkly Green Earrings, written and narrated by Melanie Shankle (eChristian); and Keeping Hope Alive, written by Dr. Hawa Abdi and narrated by Robin Miles (Hachette Audio). |
