The Gospel Music Association (GMA) annually presents special awards to individuals and entities that have had a significant impact on the Christian- and gospel-music industry. This year Hillsong is set to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award, while SiriusXM will be honored with the Outstanding Mainstream Contribution to Gospel Music Award. GMA also will bestow on Eddie DeGarmo the Impact Award, and Akintunde will receive the Grady Nutt Humor Award. “All of our special-awards recipients have made an indelible mark on our industry, and we are thrilled to be honoring their contributions and highlighting their legacy,” said GMA President and Executive Director Jackie Patillo. These awards will be given during the Dove Awards pre-show co-hosted by nominees Meredith Andrews and Jonathan McReynolds. The pre-show begins at 2 p.m. CT and will stream live at hearitfirst.com/live. At the 45th Annual GMA Dove Awards, the Newsboys and 2014 nominees Kari Jobe and Love & The Outcome will join the star-studded lineup of performers. Amy Grant and Dove nominee Tye Tribbett are also additions to the presenters for the GMA Dove Awards, hosted by Lecrae and MercyMe’s Bart Millard. The awards show will take place Tuesday, Oct. 7, in the Allen Arena at Lipscomb University in Nashville at 6:30 p.m. The show will be broadcast exclusively on The Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), Sunday, Oct. 12. The Dove Cares Red Carpet and the behind-the-scenes coverage also will stream live at hearitfirst.com/live. For a complete list of nominees, go to doveawards.com/nominees. |
