Hillsong United and MercyMe were nominated for the American Music Award (AMA) in the Favorite Artist-Contemporary Inspirational category. Casting Crowns, whose nomination was covered previously. joined Hillsong United and MercyMe in the category.

The 2015 AMAs will be broadcast live Nov. 22 from Los Angeles' Microsoft Theater on ABC. The AMAs are a fan-voted award show with winners determined by votes cast online and via Twitter. Voting is now open, and fans can vote by clicking on the AMA site.

Hillsong United was nominated for the same award in 2014. MercyMe was nominated five times previously and won twice in past years.

MercyMe’s most recent album, MercyMe, It's Christmas! (Fair Trade Services), released earlier this month. Hillsong United released its latest studio album, Empires (Hillsong), in May.
