Pure Flix has launched its own U.S. theatrical distribution arm, in preparation for next year’s nationwide theatrical release of God’s Not Dead 2. This move makes Pure Flix the first global Christian motion picture production and distribution studio. Pure Flix is responsible for the hit faith film God’s Not Dead and the recent box-office successes Do You Believe and Woodlawn. Film industry executives Ken Rather and Daniel Lange have joined the Pure Flix studio to lead the new theatrical distribution team. Rather, formerly vice president of film at Regal Entertainment, will be Pure Flix’s vice president of theatrical distribution at Pure Flix’s Scottsdale, Arizona, headquarters. Rather commented on his new position. “I am honored to be a part of the great team that Pure Flix has assembled and am excited to be a part of bringing faith and family films to a national audience on a regular basis,” Rather said. Lange will serve as general sales manager. He has experience with theatrical distribution, having served a decade at Walt Disney Studio Motion Pictures. He has also been senior vice president of distribution at Picturehouse, Apparition and FilmDistrict. Pure Flix will release the highly anticipated God's Not Dead 2: He's Surely Alive to theaters nationwide Apr. 1, 2016. The film stars Melissa Joan Hart and Jesse Metcalf. |
