Best-selling author Mark Batterson has signed a major book deal with WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group, a division of Penguin Random House, for a follow-up title to his book In a Pit With a Lion on a Snowy Day. Titled Chase the Lion: If Your Dream Doesn’t Scare You, It’s Too Small, the book is scheduled to release from Multnomah on Sept. 6, 2016, in print, digital and audio formats. Multnomah will also release an updated edition of In a Pit With a Lion on a Snowy Day on Aug. 16, 2016. Batterson is the author of more than a dozen best-selling books, including the New York Times best-seller The Circle Maker. He is the lead pastor of National Community Church (NCC), located on seven campuses in Washington, D.C. Alex Field, vice president and publisher of WaterBrook Multnomah, commented on the opportunity to partner with Batterson. “Mark is one of the most important and inspiring communicators in the church today, and this book will encourage a whole new generation of readers who are out chasing lions every day,” Field said. “We all have dreams that scare us, and Mark’s challenge for you and (me) is to take courage and embark on the chase of a lifetime.” Batterson explained the new book’s inspiration. “Nearly 10 years ago, WaterBrook Multnomah published my first book, In a Pit With a Lion on a Snowy Day,” Batterson said. “In the decade since, I’ve heard thousands of stories about lion chasers going after their God-sized dreams, and I’ve chased a few more myself. Those stories were begging for a sequel. Chase the Lion will help readers see and seize the God-ordained opportunities that often come disguised as 500-pound lions.” Editor's Note: The original version of this article included an outdated release date for the book; the error has been amended. |
