'Narnia' wins Oscar for Makeup Print Email

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

won an Oscar for Achievement in Makeup at the 78th annual Academy Awards last night.

Narnia artists Howard Berger and Tami Lane beat out Cinderella Man and Star Wars: Episode III-Revenge of the Sith. The film based on C.S. Lewis' book also was nominated for Best Visual Effects and Achievement in Sound Mixing, both of which went to King Kong.

The biggest winner at the Oscars was Crash, which won four awards including Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, Best Song and Achievement in Film Editing. Brokeback Mountain and Memoirs of a Geisha each took home three awards. The Best Actor Oscar went to Philip Seymour Hoffman for Capote, while Reese Witherspoon took the Best Actress award for her performance as June Carter Cash in Walk the Line.
