American Film Renaissance (AFR) voters selected Cinderella Man as the best movie of 2005, with The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe coming in a close second. AFR released a complete list of the top 10 films and top five documentaries of last year, as chosen by its voters. AFR's voters are a select group of movie producers, directors, screenwriters, actors and journalists from across the nation who choose films that “are not only of high aesthetic quality, but also have redeeming qualities that most Americans identify with,” said Jim Hubbard, president and founder of AFR. The other films named in the AFR's top 10 list of the best films of 2005 were Walk the Line, Crash, Downfall, Pride & Prejudice, Batman Begins, The World's Fastest Indian, Capote and King Kong, respectively. |
