Emmy-award winning producer Ralph Winter will be presented with the Briner Impact Award at the 11th Annual Biola Media Conference in La Mirada, Calif., on Saturday.

Winter has produced films based on Frank Peretti's The Visitation and Hangman's Curse, along with films based on Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins' Left Behind and Ted Dekker's upcoming film, Three. He also produced the “X-Men” movies, Captain Ron, Planet of the Apes (2001), and Star Trek III, IV, V and VI.

The Briner Impact Award was created to honor Robert A. Briner, who was the author of Roaring Lambs (Zondervan) and an award-winning TV producer. Briner's Roaring Lambs encouraged Christian artists and media professionals to impact mainstream media with their faith.

George Barna, directing leader of The Barna Group, and Cory Edwards, director and co-writer of Hoodwinked, are scheduled to speak at the one-day conference-titled Out of the Closet: Can Christians Save Hollywood?
