Broadman & Holman Publishers is changing its name to B&H Publishing Group, effective June 1, the company reported in a monthly newsletter to its authors. An official announcement is expected this week.

Beginning with its fall 2006 releases and in time for the Southern Baptist Convention's Annual Meeting, to be held June 13-14, the company will be called B&H Publishing Group.

Two reasons have been cited for the change: to encourage the use of “B&H” as a shorthand reference to the company and to acknowledge the various imprints under its publishing banner, including Holman Bibles, Holman Reference, Broadman Supplies and B&H Español. Other imprints, including B&H Books, B&H Academic, B&H Educational and B&H Kids, will follow.

The company is best-known for its books by best-selling authors such as Beth Moore, Henry Blackaby and Oliver North, as well as as the 2004 translation of the Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB).
