The Advanced Writers and Speakers Association (AWSA), an outreach of Right to the Heart Ministries, announced the 2006 finalists for the Golden Scroll Awards for Publisher, Editor and Fiction Editor of the Year. AWSA consists of more than 250 Christian-market female authors who publish and speak nationally. The Golden Scroll Awards go to editors and publishing houses who “best demonstrate an outstanding ministry partnership with their authors,” the organization said in a statement. This year's finalists for the Golden Scroll Publisher of the Year Award are Revell (Baker Publishing Group), B&H Publishing Group (formerly Broadman & Holman) and Howard Books (recently acquired by Simon & Schuster). The finalists for the Golden Scroll Editor of the Year award are Rebecca England from New Hope Publishers, Paul Gossard of Harvest House Publishers and Liz Heaney of Liz Heaney Editorial Services. The Golden Scroll Fiction Editor of the Year finalists are Nick Harrison of Harvest House, Ann Parrish of Bethany House and Julee Schwarzburg of Multnomah Publishers. AWSA founder Linda Evans Shepherd will present the AWSA Member of the Year as well as a special Lifetime Achievement Award at the fifth annual Golden Scrolls Award Banquet in Denver on July 9. Author Ellie Kay will be the keynote speaker, and Lindsey O'Connor will emcee. Authors Allison Bottke and Cindy Secret McDowell will present the publisher and editor awards with Rhonda Rhea assisting, and recording artist Bonnie Keen will perform special music.
