Two films produced by Grizzly Adams Productions garnered seven Crown Awards given by the International Christian Visual Media Association (ICVMA) at its recent conference in Denver.

Miraculous Mission received the gold award for Best Curriculum, silver awards for Best Evangelistic Film and Best Documentary over $50,000, and a bronze award for Best Screenplay. The Heroes of Flight 93 received a silver award for Best Documentary over $50,000, and bronze awards for Best Picture and Best Evangelistic Film.

The Heroes of Flight 93 tells of the heroic passengers and crew aboard the doomed United Airlines jetliner on Sept. 11, 2001, while at the same time addresses spiritual questions raised by the tragedy. Miraculous Mission is the story of the 12 apostles interwoven with commentary from today's scholars, archaeologists, scientists and theologians.

“These awards are confirmation that our films meet the real need for family-friendly, faith-based shows that have a spiritual emphasis,” said David Balsiger, Grizzly Adams' vice president.

The Crown Awards are designed to recognize excellence in production and content of films and DVDs that are created to reflect faith-based values. The awards began around 1973 as a way for distributors to honor the work of film/TV producers. ICVMA is an international consortium of producers and distributors in faith-based visual media.
