The ESV (English Standard Version) Study Bible, released Oct. 15 by Crossway Books & Bibles, has gone back to press for a second printing of 50,000 after surpassing the demand for an initial run of 100,000 copies, company officials said. Crossway cited positive responses from retailers like Mark Traphagen, online sales manager for Westminster Bookstore in Philadelphia—who reported record-breaking sales and called the ESV Study Bible "by far the fastest selling new product in the history of our store." Dylan Hillhouse, Bible buyer for Mardel Christian & Education stores, added that "early results indicate that this is going to be a very key item for Mardel this Christmas season." "The demand for the ESV Study Bible shows that people want more tools when studying God's Word," said James Kinnard, marketing director for Crossway. The ESV Study Bible, created by a team of 95 biblical scholars, features more than 20,000 notes, hundreds of colored maps, illustrations, diagrams and charts as well as an online version.
