The Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA) announced admission prices for its new consumer-oriented Christian Book Expo (CBE), debuting in Dallas, March 20-22 next year. Single-day admission will be $29, with a three-day ticket costing $59. A $5-off coupon will be available through churches, with a further $5 coupon to be offered by publishers, ministries and retailers, said ECPA President Mark Kuyper. Attendees who are under 17 will be allowed in free. There will be a separate, yet-to-be-decided admission fee for the 2009 Christian Book Award program that will kick off the expo the evening of March 19. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Global Publishers Alliance, the ECPA sister organization that supports publishing initiatives in developing countries. More than 140 authors have been confirmed as CBE participants at the Dallas Convention Center. They include best-selling writers Max Lucado, Donald Miller, Philip Yancey, Karen Kingsbury, Lee Strobel, Gary Chapman, J.I. Packer, Don Piper and Stormie Omartian. Authors at the event, which organizers expect will draw thousands of visitors, will be speaking, signing books, conducting workshops and meeting consumers. |
