The continuing success of Rick Warren's The Purpose-Driven Life propelled Zondervan to another year of record growth in the 12 months to June 30, President Bruce Ryskamp disclosed during a meeting with Christian Retailing yesterday. With 17 million copies sold to date, sales for the coming year are expected to be higher than last, he added, with more churches across the country joining the 40 Days of Purpose Campaign which propels interest as local congregations study the book en masse. While the success had opened new doors for Zondervan, including ABA independent stores, the company was using some of the profits to support the Christian retail channel, investing in televison and newspaper promotions championing CBA market retailers, Ryskamp said.
