CBA has discontinued some of its services and programs, including CBAnetwork.com, a Web site designed as an online forum for retail members. The changes were a part of CBA's plan to shift from "services to solutions" as announced during this summer's international convention in Atlanta. CBA President Bill Anderson told Christian Retailing that the following services were dropped: Cbanetwork.com; Strata G, a business planning tool; a retail-management camp; a wage and benefit survey; and a ministry fund-raising gift-card program. He named two examples of continuing business "solutions" for CBA: the Above the Treeline data-tracking program and the CBA Awareness Campaign. More initiatives will come early next year to help improve the supply chain, he said. In addition, the Christian Book Samplers and regional conventions in other countries will become the responsibility of an international committee. "This is a year of intensive transition for CBA that requires partnering with our members in research, development and implementation of highly valued business solutions," Anderson said. "It is a long-term process affecting some association activity immediately and more of our products and services in the coming year." The full story on CBA's changes will appear in the Nov. 15 issue of Christian Retailing.
