WILLIAMS BROTHERS, HAMMOND RECEIVE STELLAR AWARDS NOMINEES Print Email

Nominees for the 20th annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards were announced Tuesday in Houston. The Williams Brothers, a veteran trio, and Fred Hammond gained the most nominations with six each.
Hammond received nods for artist of the year, CD of the year for Somethin' 'Bout Love (Verity) and song of the year for the album's title track. The Williams' Brothers were recognized for group/duo of the year and traditional CD of the year for Still Here (Blackberry).
Other multiple Stellar Award nominees included Tonex and the Peculiar People, Bishop Paul S. Morton and CeCe Winans, who each received five nominations. Tonex, Morton Hammond and Israel & the New Breed will vie for top artist of the year.
