The Gigi, God's Little Princess DVD reigned as 2006's best-selling children's DVD from a new series, according to Nielsen SoundScan's year-end charts. Thomas Nelson's popular children's brand has sold well in the last year, according to company officials.

Released in the fall, God's Little Princess Devotional Bible hit No.1 on the CBA children's best-selling book list and landed at No. 20 on the Top 50 book list from the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association, the highest position held by a children's title. Only four children's titles made the chart, including Zondervan's Zonderkidz title The Beginner's Bible.

“Our little princess is growing up,” said Dan Lynch, vice president of Family Entertainment for Thomas Nelson. “It's been fun to see Gigi expand from a best-selling picture book to DVDs and toys. We're looking forward to a very pink future with the brand.”

The brand debuted in 2005 with the first picture book, Gigi, God's Little Princess, which sold more than 100,000 units in the first 12 months. It expanded in 2006 with two additional picture books, The Royal Tea Party and The Perfect Christmas Gift, and the animated DVD. Women of Faith speaker and author of numerous books for grown-ups Sheila Walsh created Gigi.

The picture book for boys, Will, God's Mighty Warrior, was released in May 2006. Walsh's latest picture books, The Pink Ballerina (“Gigi” series) and The Mystery of Magillicuddy's Gold (“Will” series), comes to stores in late March, with the God's Mighty Warrior Devotional Bible arriving in April. The Gigi's Hugest Announcement DVD will be released March 20.
