'Amazing Grace' coming to Christian retail |

Amazing Grace , the inspiring story of the struggle of 18th-century abolitionist William Wilberforce as he took on the British slave trade, is scheduled for release Nov. 13 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment and is being distributed to Christian retail by Word Distribution. Amazing Grace stars Ioan Gruffudd (Fantastic Four, King Arthur), Albert Finney (Erin Brockovich, Big Fish), Michael Gambon (Gosford Park, the “Harry Potter” series), Romola Garai (Vanity Fair, Nicholas Nickleby) and Rufus Sewell (The Illusionist, The Holiday).
The film was directed by Michael Apted, who also is slated to direct the third installment of the “Chronicles of Narnia” series, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Amazing Grace was a joint effort by Walden Media (The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe) and the family-friendly Bristol Bay Productions, makers of Ray.
Amazing Grace, which received good reviews, grossed $21 million domestically since it was released on 1,162 screens in February, according to BoxOfficeMojo.com.
