Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment (TCFHE) last night unveiled plans for a family-friendly “TV you can trust” channel dubbed Fox Neighborhood TV. The project was announced at a special dinner and preview for The Last Sin Eater, a movie about a young girl seeking forgiveness. Based on the award-winning novel by Francine Rivers, the film is slated for theaters Feb. 9. More than 450 conventioneers attended. Before the screening, Jeff Yordy, vice president of TCFHE, told the audience about the Fox Neighborhood TV network, which will launch sometime this year. He noted that Fox Neighborhood, which has the slogan “Where your family is at home,” will feature family-friendly programs and movies from FoxKids, FoxFamily and FoxFaith, the Twentieth Century Fox studio imprint that features faith-based movies. “(It will be) built around TV that you can trust,” explained Yordy, who also revealed details of FoxFaith's eight theatrical movies and their release schedule for 2007. “There won't be anything in this channel that you can't carry in your stores.” Yordy's comments drew loud applause from the crowd. He also outlined a plan that will enable retailers to sell tickets for FoxFaith theatrical releases. Joyce and Paul Anders, owners of The Power House in Brighton, Ill., said they were excited to hear about the Fox Neighborhood TV network. “This is fantastic news,” Joyce said. “We're looking forward to it.” |
