Linus' recitation of the Christmas story from the classic TV special A Charlie Brown Christmas is to be available in a new line of seasonal song cards from DaySpring.

The card company has licensed two Peanuts cards from the famous CBS special, a staple of holiday broadcasting for 40 years, for the new Christmas line unveiled at the show. Ten other Christmas song cards feature traditional holiday songs and carols from artists including Rosemary Clooney and Bing Crosby.

The Christmas cards-plus-CD, which retail for $4.99 each, come in a Christmas endcap that also features regular Christmas cards. Additionally DaySpring produces 24 everyday song cards.

DaySpring has also introduced this week a new humor line led by a dozen cards from comedienne and author Anita Renfroe. Free sets of the new "That's Life" series were given to representatives of The Potters House in Valdosta, Ga., and The Salvation Army bookstore in Des Plains Road, Ill., who drew winning golden tickets in sample sets handed out at the DaySpring booth.

DaySpring spokesman Tim Ward said: "We have done humor before on a number of occasions, and we saw that there was a need in the marketplace for some good humor. ... Christian humor can be a challenging venture, to maintain integrity and still be funny."
